General terms

All the information stored in browser (cookie, local storage) is strictly shared with our servers in order to offer you a good experience using our websites. Besides the webapps that require user authentication,
our servers do not use any information to identity the clients in any way. We use cookies to store user preferences, we use the browser language to serve the website in your language (if it exists).
We also use in our pages a location identification strictly for marketing and business intelligence purposes only.

What personal data we collect and why we collect it

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the blog, we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Contact forms

Contact forms send an automated email to the administrators, hence what is written there is stored on the mail server. Nothing is recorded to any database. The server may send you a copy of the sent email to your address as well.

Cookies

We use cookies primarly for storing user preferences and for analytics. For instance:

  • When the user changes the language, a cookie will be stored to indicate the user culture
  • A cookie may be saved in order to identify a returning user
  • Identitfy the most visited pages by a user

Newsletter

For newsletter we just require a name and a valid email address. We’ll use your email to send you news and promotions. We don’t disclose it to anybody, it stays safely in our database. You can unsubscribe from it at anytime by using the link provided into the email.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. Data stored when you subscribed to our newsletter are deleted permanently when you choose to unsubscribe. There is no option to delete your account after you register. However, if you wish to do that please contact us and we’ll take care of this “dirty” stuff.

What rights you have over your data

You have the right at any time to request from us any kind of info about what we store about you. You can also ask us to delete your user account if you registered with our platform. Remember we don’t store more data than you provided to us.

It may happen that we need to keep data for audit purposes, statistics or legal reasons. In these scenarios, we delete all the data linked to you, but we have the right that your data to be accounted or statistic, audit or legal purposes.

Where we send your data

Besides browser cookies, local storage and our databases, we don’t share your data with anybody. In case of a comment posted on the blog, this data may pass through an automated spam detection service.
